On the night of December 31st, 1999, while everybody was out getting their party hats on and toasting the year 2000, I was at home; in front of a computer. Yes, I’m a nerd…and a geek….and a dork. All in one. Fear my pocket protectors!
In a moment of je ne sais quoi, I ran accross one of those free webhosting sites and I thought, why not? I started a little site that was – as most newbie sites are – a collection of links to places I liked. Nothing very original.
As time went by, I added a variety of content, then moved to a paid webhost, then to another one, where it lives today.
Since it’s creation, the site has gone through many names, content and overall randomness depending on the misfiring synapses in my brain.
As it stands today, Café Nox is mainly my blog. It looks pretty empty at the moment, but I have a lot of plans on what type of content I want to see in this site, as well as what I don’t want to see in it.
What you should expect to see in the future:
- Recipes.
- My writing.
- My artwork.
- Random ramblings on the daily fun of being a military wife in Okinawa, Japan and other bases we get sent to.
What you shouldn’t expect to see in the future:
- Major political and social commentary intended to change the world. I’m a daughter of rebels and you should expect the occasional rambling, but that’s about it.
- Delusions of grandeur. I’m a socially awkward weirdo who has a buffalo hat next to her desk and a set of lightsaber chopsticks amongst her prized possessions. Fame and fortune are the least of my aspirations.
Be aware that:
- I’m a catholic, married to a lutheran. I believe in God.
- I believe in freedom of speech, faith, thought and all human rights. I do not believe that who you cuddle up with in bed at the end of the day should affect any of your rights.
- I’m completely off my rocker.
- I’m very open-minded.
- I am prone to cussing.
