Frequently Asked Questions and other useless things….
ABOUT ME:
So…..I heard that you went by the name “Beast” for little over ten years. What’s up with that?
Think X-Men. A library co-worker dubbed me and it stuck.
Are you certifiably insane?
Probably so.
So, you’re a shrink, Can you be my online therapist?
NO.
Who’s “the Bear”?
My husband.
ABOUT THE SITE:
Why a website?
I was really bored the night of December 31, 1999.
Can I link to your site?
Yes.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK:
I know there isn’t that much artwork left in the site, but unless it’s credited to someone else, I’ve done all of the graphics/doodles, including the header image.
STEAL AND I WILL HAVE YOUR ASS FOR LUNCH.
Have you ever taken art lessons?
After years of random doodling, I took two drawing classes in 2003. Other than that, it’s all directly off my brain.
Your art sucks!
Thank you!
Do you consider yourself an artist?
Not really. Just your average psycho.
Then why do you keep doing artsy crap?
Because the need to create is stronger than me.
I liked ‘xxxxxxx’ pic from your site, can I take/copy/print/tattoo it?
NO
Even if I ask nicely?
NO
ABOUT THE WRITING:
Your writing makes the Masters of Grammar weep.
English is my second language. Regardless of any proficiency I may have in it, I will forever have a tendency to write in English with Spanish grammar.
Are you planning on getting published?
Good question.
You. Suck.
*beam* Thanks!!
ABOUT THE NEEDLEWORK
How long have you been crocheting/knitting?
My Grandma Teresa taught me when I was 9. I picked up the crochet pretty fast, but she was too strict with the knitting, so I ditched it. I continued to crochet for the next 20 years. Started knitting again after I moved to the US.
Will you make me something? I’ll send you cash!
Sorry, don’t take crocheting commissions. I have early stages of carpal tunnel and while I consider crocheting/knitting a stress reliever for me, I’d rather keep it as a personal hobby.
ABOUT THE COOKING
How long have you been cooking?
Give or take, since I was around 7. I started out by helping both my Mother and Grandmother prep for things, then moved to side dishes, then full meals. The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in a house.
Did you ever go to culinary school?
Nope. Watching, experimenting and learning.
Why don’t you put measurements in most of your recipes?
That’s how I learned to cook. I eyeball everything.
If you have any other questions, leave a comment, I’ll try to answer.
